About Chopstix for Charity
The National Association of Asian American Professionals of Atlanta’s Chopstix for Charity (NAAAP-Atlanta) (CFC) connects corporations, small businesses and individuals to the local Asian Pacific Islander community through an annual fundraising event that provides grants to non-profit organizations based in the greater Atlanta metro area. Since its formation, Chopstix for Charity has allocated over $385,000. In 2010 alone, it distributed $35,000 for 21 non-profit organizations.
Chopstix for Charity was established in 1997 through the collective efforts of various Asian American organizations in Atlanta, including the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA), the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), and NAAAP Atlanta. In 2002, NAAAP Atlanta received its 501(c)(3) status and assumed ownership of the fiscal responsibilities of CFC.
In 2007, CFC was the signature evening event featured at the 21st annual NAAAP National Convention & Diversity Career Fair. Since then, CFC's Organizing Committee has officially merged with NAAAP Atlanta's Executive Board to strengthen its impact and connections within the Atlanta community.
