NAAAP Atlanta’s announces their Inaugural Banquet IMPACT, celebrating the people and organizations that make an impact in Atlanta.

Michael Fung joined Wal-Mart in 2001, and helped establish their sourcing operations in 20 different countries including their headquarters in Shenzhen, China. In his current role at Wal-Mart, Mr. Fung is responsible for U.S. finance operations including merchandising, logistics, real estate, operations, professional services, global procurement, strategy, financial planning and analysis.


Mr. Fung's leadership at Wal-Mart was instrumental in developing minority talent within the company. He has received awards for his ability to recruit, train and develop leaders. Mr. Fung recently served on the Business Advisory Council at the University of Illinois at Chicago and continues as a guest speaker on business strategy.

Mr. Fung was recently named an honoree of the Who’s Who in Asian American Communities Leaders & Legends Awards. Mr. Fung serves on the Board of the Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) and is the organization’s treasurer.

Tariq Khan is founder and President of Global Diversity Marketing, a New York based management planning firm helping Fortune companies develop and implement diversity marketing strategies. He is an adjunct professor of marketing and public relations at New York University. His twenty-year career, includes senior roles at MetLife, Nationwide, and ING. At ING, he served as senior vice president of market development for ING’s U.S. Wealth Management group.

Tariq Khan is also credited with developing and supporting the largest and most diverse distribution channel in the financial services industry. He developed and managed support for diverse business groups generating annual revenue of $2.4 billion. He has launched several award winning branding campaigns for the African American, Asian, Hispanic, and women’s market in the financial services industry.

Mr. Khan serves on the Board of the Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) and is the organization’s 2009 Gala organizer.
